Make Your Own CBD Bath Salts

A fun way to soak your stress away!

You might think the only way you can use your CBD is by taking it each day – orally. While, yes, this is an important thing you can do for your overall health, did you know that CBD does wonders for the skin, as well? CBD provides soothing care for the beautiful skin you are in…and helps to ease away the stress at the end of a long day.

We’re here with a CBD Bath Salts Recipe to help turn your routine bathing experience into a CBD detox bath for your skin and your spirit. See how with a few quick ingredients, you can relax in a CBD bath soak.

It’s fun, quick, and easy, so let’s get started!

Benefits of CBD Oil in Your Bath

  • Relaxation
  • Calming
  • Moisturizing
  • Boost for skin health
  • Well-tolerated
  • Good for all skin types

Also, importantly, some CBD can absorb through the skin for deeper benefits.

CBD Bath Salts Recipe

First, gather the tools and carefully selected ingredients.

Tools

  1. Large mixing bowl.
  2. Mixing spoon – we like to use a bamboo kitchen spoon.
  3. A jar with a tight-fitting lid to store your bath salts. Select a small decorative one if you want, but also keep a larger container under the cabinet to store the base mixture.
  4. A cutesy little bath scoop for your bath salts – a bamboo scoop looks really nice and eco-friendly! Use something that scoops about ¼ cup.

Ingredients

  1. Epsom salts. Get a big bag so you can use it to make new batches of CBD bath salts as you need. Get the plain kind without additives or added scents.
  2. CBD Oil of choice (We like this one for making CBD bath salts. Buy an economical three-pack to use for making your CBD bath salts regularly and keep them stored in a closed cabinet.)
  3. Essential oils of choice.

Essential oils suggestions

For relaxation: Lavender, frankincense, rose, bergamot, cedarwood, chamomile, clary sage, patchouli or any other essential oils scent you find particularly relaxing

For inspiration: Ylang ylang, eucalyptus, geranium, rose, citrus scents like orange or lemon, juniper berry, lemongrass

For rejuvenation: Peppermint, rosemary, sweet orange, eucalyptus, tea tree

For soothing & pampering: Rose, ylang ylang, frankincense

Use one scent alone or mix a few drops of different ones to create your own scented blend. Here are some DIY recipes for essential oil blends you may want to try.

Mixing Up Your CBD Bath Salts

2 cups Epsom Salts

2 Droppers-full of CBD Oil

5-10 (total) drops of essential oils

Add all ingredients to the mixing bowl. Stir. Put into an airtight container.

It’s really that easy!

To make your bath salts detoxing: To make your CBD soak bath a CBD detox bath salts recipe, add 2 teaspoons of ground (powdered) ginger and ½ cup of baking soda. Be sure to drink plenty of water before and after your CBD + ginger detox bath.

To add color: Simply add a few drops of food coloring and stir.

To make your bath salts more moisturizing: To turn your CBD soak bath into a moisturizing experience for your whole body, gently melt 2 tablespoons of cocoa butter or coconut oil by a double boiling method. You can use a heat-resistant dish inside of a pan of boiling water. Hold the mug/cup/measuring cup of oils into the boiling water and gently stir the oils to melt. It takes just a minute or two.

Allow it to cool a little then stir in the CBD oil before mixing in with your salts (and a few drops of food coloring, if you want it colored). Stir well. This added moisture, along with the naturally soothing and moisturizing abilities of CBD oil, will make your CBD bath soak a pampering moisture soak for your dry skin.

Using Your CBD Detox Bath Salts

For each bath, you’ll use about ¼ to ½ cup of your CBD bath salts mixture. There’s no hard rule on how much you need and this is highly dependent on how much bathwater you have in your tub. Use your discretion on how much works best for your bath.

You can add additional drops of essential oils or CBD oil if you feel you need it. Just add them directly to the bath.

Soak in the tub. Relax and allow your muscles to rest. If you find it difficult to rest in the bath, play a guided meditation on your Alexa device or on your phone – but make sure this is hands free. Your arms, shoulders, and neck muscles can relax better if you are not using your hands to scroll on your phone or hold a book.

A good 10-15 minute soak is plenty sufficient, or until the water has cooled and you want to get out.

Pat yourself dry with a soft bath towel and do not rub your skin. You want the CBD oil and other beneficial ingredients in your bath salts to continue to nourish your skin, even after your bath.

Storing Your CBD Bath Salts Between Uses

One reason your CBD oil comes in a dark glass bottle is to protect the precious cannabinoids inside from degrading. Our CBD formula doesn’t have a bunch of preservatives in it, so storing it correctly helps to protect the nourishing ingredients inside. You should take care to store your CBD bath salts in a dark and cool area, like inside of a cabinet. You may want to opt for a dark glass jar to store them in, as well, for this reason.

Asé Pure Naturals broad spectrum CBD oil stands out because of our commitment to high standards:

  • Broad spectrum formula is made without added THC.
  • Made with organic monk fruit, premium hemp oils, organic peppermint oil.
  • Vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free.
  • Grown and made in the USA in a CGMP facility.
  • Free of toxic additives, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins, mold, and residual solvents.

Keep your CBD bath salts protected to ensure the best quality. We recommend you make small batches each week rather than a larger batch that must be stored for longer. (Again, we don’t fill our CBD products with preservatives so it’s best to make your bath salts fresh and store them properly.) Keep them out of the reach of children.
