5 Ways to Boost Confidence

Confidence is not an innate quality some are born with. Confidence is a trait that is developed as you put yourself in new situations or environments. Nobody is born confident.

Researchers have consistently found a correlation between confidence and success. Confident people are perceived as being more attractive, they’re better at sales and tend to be more successful. Maybe it’s because they have the drive to start things and are willing to fail while others are pondering. Action beats inaction every time.

  1. Face your fears:

The thing you fear to do, is what you should do. What if you fail? Then, do it again. The more you do, the better you’ll get, and your self-confidence will grow. Failure is not something to be feared, it’s to be faced. Put yourself in situations that are uncomfortable and challenging this will force personal growth and eventually success. Be okay with failure. No one successful at anything got there without failure. Understand failure is part of the process.

       2. Workout:

Feel good and look good yes, but there’s more to working out then simply looking better. Your brain releases good feeling chemicals like endocannabinoids, dopamine, serotonin & endorphins, these promote feelings of success, happiness & confidence.

      3. Keep promises you make to yourself:

If you tell yourself you’re going to do something, do it. Confident people follow through with their commitments to self. Because they follow through, they believe in themselves. If you had a friend, tell you over and over again, they would do something but didn’t, you wouldn’t trust them. So, if you do this with yourself you will naturally not believe in yourself. Confident people trust themselves to follow through with personal promises.

  1. Stop caring what people think:

Easier said than done. We all care at some level but it’s a waste of time. We can’t control how we are perceived, it’s more important to have good intentions and focus on being a good human. There is a ton to be said when you align your energy and focus on what really matters!

     5. Don’t compare yourself to others:

It’s often been said that comparison is the thief of joy. In a world of fakes and facades via social media outlets, don’t fall victim to comparing yourself to others. Sure, it’s great to look up to people who inspire you. Just don’t waste precious energy focusing on other people’s lives rather than your own.

Boosting confidence may be difficult at first. Hopefully, these tips will put you on the right path towards developing self-confidence.
