Lizzy Fowler’s FKT Attempt on the John Muir Trail

Running for Strength: Lizzy Fowler’s FKT Attempt on the John Muir Trail

On September 6th , endurance runner Lizzy Fowler is taking on one of the most grueling challenges in the ultrarunning world—the Fastest Known Time (FKT) attempt on the legendary John Muir Trail in Northern California. Spanning 223 miles from the summit of Mount Whitney to the breathtaking Yosemite Valley, this route is a punishing test of grit, endurance, and spirit. The current FKT sits at just under 2 days and 9 hours—and Lizzy is determined to see if she can push past that barrier.

For Lizzy, this effort is about more than chasing a record. Her run carries a mission that reaches far beyond the rugged Sierra Nevada trails.

In December 2024, during what should have been an evening run in Florida, Lizzy was brutally attacked. An experience meant to break her instead ignited a fire. Refusing to be silenced, she turned to movement as her weapon and her voice. Through the Un-Silenced Miles Project, Lizzy is charging forward—raising awareness and vital funds for Take Back The Night    (@tbtnfoundation), an organization committed to ending sexual assault and empowering survivors to rise stronger than ever.

With over $7,000 already raised toward her $11,000 goal, every step Lizzy takes on the John Muir Trail is powered by purpose—the belief that movement can inspire healing, and that strength can be found even in the most difficult chapters of life.

“It’s going to be a wild one, but I’m ready to see what’s possible on this adventure ahead,” Lizzy shares.

More Than Miles

FKT attempts are grueling by nature. The John Muir Trail demands thousands of feet of climbing, long stretches of exposed alpine terrain, and the kind of relentless mental stamina that pushes even the strongest athletes to their limits. But for Lizzy, every mile is a chance to amplify the voices of survivors, to prove that resilience is stronger than silence.

Her mission is clear: to shatter the stigma surrounding sexual violence and to provide resources that help survivors rediscover their own inner strength. By turning her passion for running into a platform for advocacy, Lizzy is showing the world what it means to channel pain into power.

Why We Support Lizzy

At Asé Pure Naturals, we believe movement is more than fitness—it’s a way to heal, grow, and connect to something bigger. Lizzy’s journey embodies these values. As she pushes her body and mind to the limits on the John Muir Trail, we’re honored to support her in the pursuit of possibility, resilience, and impact.

This is more than a record attempt. It’s a story of courage, community, and unshakable determination.
